Here’s a fabulously flashy epidote cluster! It is composed of tiny, tabular crystals in various shades of green. What appears as light green druze is, under 10x magnification, seen to be a multitude of tiny, inter-grown tabular crystals. Many of these are a nice, transparent green. Larger crystals with chisel point terminations are nearly black in color. The underside is just mud.

Epidote is a common rock-forming mineral of secondary origin. It occurs in marble and schist of metamorphic origin. Epidote is also a product of hydrothermal alteration of various minerals. Well-developed crystals are found in many localities. This specimen was taken from the MorganIII Mine, Located in Canete Province, Lima Department, Peru.

Metaphysically, epidote increases spiritual attunement and removes resistance to spiritual awakening. Epidote clears negative emotional states and purifies the emotional body. In healing, use epidote for the nervous and immune systems. It supports the brain, thyroid, liver, gallbladder and adrenal glands.
