Chrysocolla/Malachite w/ Druzy Quartz, MM#18

Chrysocolla/Malachite w/ Druzy Quartz, MM#18, 68mm x 63mm x 43mm, 151.3 grams, Price: $45.00

Parts of this specimen show chrysocolla dark blue enough to be called gem silica, in my opinion. Parts of it show green malachite. The best parts show pockets of druzy quartz crystals, some green, some blue.

Chrysocolla is a hydrated copper cyclosilicate mineral. Chrysocolla is an ore of copper. It has a hardness of 2.5 to 3.5. It forms in the oxidation zone of copper ore bodies, in association with other copper minerals. This specimen comes from the Acari Mine, Caraveli Province, Arequipa Department, Peru.

Metaphysically, chrysocolla is a tranquil stone that aids in meditation and communication. It can help one to accept situations that are constantly changing. In healing, chrysocolla treats bone disease, arthritis and digestive and blood disorders.
