$35.00

56mm x 37mm x 30mm, 52 grams, Price: $35.00

Here, we see deposits of botryoidal malachite and maybe a bit of chrysocolla. On the malachite are tiny, acicular crystals of brochantite.

Brochantite is a member of the family of copper sulfates. It forms as a secondary mineral in arid climates, from the rapid oxidation of copper sulfide deposits. It is named after its discoverer, the French geologist, A. J. M. Brochant de Villiers.

Crystals of brochantite range from emerald green to black-green or blue-green and may be acicular or prismatic. Brochantite is often associated with other copper bearing minerals.

Metaphysically speaking, brochantite stimulates the base and heart charkas and strengthens the auric field. Brochantite is protective and cleansing. It can provide insight into danger and dishonesty. In healing, use brochantite to treat disorders of the spleen and pancreas and in the treatment of arthritis and rheumatism.

This specimen was mined from La Farola Mine, located in Cerro Pintado, Las Pintadas District, Tierra Amarilla, Copiapo Province, Atacama Region, Chile.
